Sabathani Community Center

Sabathani Community Center is a non-profit located in South Minneapolis. At the time I created this site I was the Network Admin for SCC. My boss knew about my interest in web design and asked if I would be able to create a website for the center.

About

In 1998, I wrote my first HTML code. In 2003, I created my first professional website for Sabathani Community Center. The following years were filled with hobby websites for my travels, my nephews, and guild websites (for online roleplaying games such as Everquest and Final Fantasy XI). In May 2009, I partnered up with a friend to launch embe and since then I’ve created 2 more websites.

While my main focus is on web design, I also enjoy the aspects of graphic design, illustration and photography.

Web & Graphic Design Skills

Knowledgeable in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash)
Proficient in HTML and CSS
Created and maintain embeshop.com in WordPress

Work Experience

Freelancer (current) – web design (design, maintenance & quality assurance); IT support (help desk & network admin)
Co-founder of embe (current) – In addition to the day-to-day administration of embe, I also manage the Web site development/maintenance while contributing to marketing, sales and promotions.
IT Technician (2006-2009) – Managed the help desk at Hanley Wood Marketing. Additional responsibilities included network management and quality assurance for web projects.

Currently taking courses in the Web/Graphic Design Program at MCTC
2004, Network Administration Certificate from Minneapolis Community and Technical College, Minnesota
2001, Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from University of St. Thomas, Minnesota
